How to paint a landscape in acrylic?

Mixing colours

We recommend starting with a primary colours set and adding a few colour tubes of your choice. When mixing, place your colours on the palette with enough space between them so that they stay clean. To darken or lighten your tones, avoid adding black and white as these will dull the colours. Instead use the primary (yellow, cyan and magenta) and secondary (orange, green and purple) colours. If you need to increase drying time of your colour mix, add a bit of retarder medium.

Glazing

A glaze is a thin transparent and smooth coloured layer applied on a dry layer. To create a glaze, simply dilute a colour using a gloss fluid medium until obtaining a nice transparent coloured textured. This technique aims to bring luminosity to the painting.
